Role Overview
Alloyed specialises in the rapid design and development of complex, world leading components at the forefront of metal manufacturing technology. Metrology is involved at every stage of the product lifecycle, from early process development through to final quality control. This is an exciting and varied role, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to every stage of manufacture
Alloyed is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our organisation. Your primary responsibilities will be to compose detailed CMM programmes to inspection high performance components. Responsibilities extend to process improvement in relation to CMM programming and operation. Use of other Metrology equipment will be required – training provided where needed. You will work within the Metrology team to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of this process. Your attention to detail, and commitment to quality will be critical in producing Alloyed’s components.
You will work closely with the engineering and operations teams, and report directly to the Metrology Manager in Abingdon where this role will be based. Training will be provided as required.
Responsibilities
Programming and operation of CMM Metrology equipment – Hexagon / PC-DIMIS. Renishaw Agility / Modus
CMM process development and improvement
Support project teams throughout product development
Support and organise tool calibration to retain traceability & Maintain accurate logs of measured parts
Share knowledge with metrology team to enhance overall team capabilities
Essential skills
Experience in CMM programming using Hexagon / PC-DIMIS. Renishaw Agility / Modus
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings / GD&T- Review engineering drawings for measurability/ inaccuracies and application – provide detailed feedback to engineering project teams
Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
Organised and able to work independently, but also to collaborate with a diverse, fast-moving team
Hands-on attitude and willingness to learn new skills
High level of attention to detail and appreciation of need for robust and efficient metrology processes
Experience working in high-accuracy engineering environment
Desired skills
Design and manufacture of jigs/ fixturing used for measurement – Fusion / Rhino
Computer coding/ data analysis skills
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control/ Measurement Systems Analysis/ Gauge R&R
Willing to work flexible hours if required
